Our comprehensive and modular AI Governance platform serves as the single source of truth on AI usage by discovering and controlling AI inventory, assessing and managing risk of AI systems, and continuously auditing AI inventory against the latest legislation to ensure compliance. We are looking for an organised, detail-oriented individual to join the finance team as Financial Controller reporting to the CEO. The appointed candidate will play a fundamental part in the financial strategy of Holistic AI. The responsibilities of the Financial Controller, review and set strategy of how we interact with managers and staff in regard to financial matters. To be successful as Financial Controller you need to embrace the challenge of constantly gathering and analysing data and proactively provide feedback to enhance systems and processes that supports the team globally. You should have a good working knowledge of techniques of communicating with customers and staff, planning and the ability to motivate team members, foster a dynamic, inclusive and high performing workplace culture. The Financial Controller should think commercially and be curious in all aspects of work, have strong written and verbal communication skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, good decision-making skills with the ability to work on their own initiative.

This is an exciting and varied role for a motivated and disciplined Financial Controller. You’ll work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to deliver key business outcomes.

In this initially stand-alone hands-on role, you’ll report to the CEO, to deliver key deliverables which underpin the strategy of the business. Someone who can support senior management and still be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and managing day-to-day matters.

Financial Controller Responsibilities

Manage the full cycle of financial operations (Cashflow, P&L, Balance Sheet)

Provide reporting and insights to senior leaders to help inform business direction

Multitask across various legal entities, business models and levels of work

Collaborative with teams across the company to support business growth by contributing financial expertise to strategic initiatives and projects

Identify potential improvements with current financial processes and develop strategies to implement changes

Perform bookkeeping including data entry, recording receipts and invoices, reconciliation of bank statements and expenses

Prepare and complete month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting

Perform financial planning, annual budgeting, and day to day cost management

Ensure compliance with all relevant financial rules and regulations in UK and US

Other duties to meet business needs

We Expect You To

Degree in finance or a related field, prefer 3 to 5 years of progressive experience

Demonstrated experience working in a start-up environment or SMEs and scaling up

Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing finance teams

Strategic mindset, ability to think critically and provide insights to drive business results

Experience in SaaS companies and the required SaaS reporting a plus

Knowledge of the accounting practices in UK, with the US is a plus

Effective communicator at all levels with the ability to build trusted relationships

Able to demonstrate capability in problem solving, decision making, and good judgment

Proficiency in Finance systems and other accounting related software applications

Professional and positive approach, a can-do attitude, dynamic and self-motivated

Ability to cope with pressure, ability to flex and adapt ways of working to suit business

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work directly with staff and stakeholders

Solid organizational skills and ability to prioritize easily with limited supervision

ACCA,ACA or CIMA in UK and CPA or CFA in US certifications a plus

Good knowledge of financial/accounting systems and associated software, Xero a plus

Interest in technology and the ways it can be harnessed in the modern finance function
